Not only is AWARD School one of the highest-rated advertising courses in the world, but It is also notoriously difficult to get into. Completing the course is an achievement in itself, which makes it even more surprising that there are few awards actually handed out—7 in total for around 200 students.
This lack of merit got us thinking. Shouldn't every alum get an award for completing Award? Even if it's just for surviving the 12 weeks of non-stop work? That's why we created the Diamond Pencil—awarded to everyone who climbed the mountain and reached the summit that is that course.
The total expenses factored in a $30 PETG filament spool, a base model 3D printer (Ender 3), and roughly 70 hours of effort dedicated to designing, testing, printing, and carefully painting 50 diamond pencils over a span of five days to make it in time for graduation.
The result? A glowing response from alums, tutors, and industry leaders all over social media, plus a few articles featured in B&T, Mediaweek, LBBonline, and Adnews.
